China Photovoltaic Power Assists Qatar World Cup

The Qatar World Cup is in full swing. Although the Chinese men's football team has no chance to appear on the court, our Chinese elements are still everywhere in the World Cup. From referees to mascots, from stadium construction to power security, Chinese construction and Chinese manufacturing have provided strong support for the Qatar World Cup.

As we all know, Qatar is rich in oil and gas resources. Its natural gas reserves rank the third in the world, second only to Russia and Iran. Its crude oil reserves rank the 14th in the world. Its proven reserves are about 25.2 billion barrels, accounting for about 1.5% of the global share. For a long time, in Qatar, which is rich in oil and gas resources, the energy and power supply is mainly oil and gas. However, today's society is calling for carbon neutrality, and Qatar is no exception. Therefore, Qatar made a commitment to green and low-carbon environmental protection when hosting this World Cup, striving to become the first "carbon neutral" World Cup.

In order to meet the needs of the World Cup, Qatar has imported 888 pure electric buses from China, which is the first time that a large number of new energy buses have been introduced into China for international large-scale sports events. Thanks to Qatar's rich lighting resources, photovoltaic power generation has also become one of Qatar's preferred energy supplies. On October 18 this year, the 800MW photovoltaic power station in Al Qassa, Qatar, has been officially put into operation. China Power Construction Group Guizhou Engineering Co., Ltd. contracted the full capacity grid connection of the 800.1 MW photovoltaic project in Qatar. After the grid connection, the project will provide energy support for Qatar at a competitive electricity price, improve the energy utilization efficiency through the diversification of power sources, which can increase the proportion of renewable energy utilization, It is also conducive to the diversified development of the national economy. It is a part of Qatar's "2030 National Vision" and a pioneer in Qatar's new energy photovoltaic power generation field. It is estimated that the Al Kasa 800MW photovoltaic power station in Qatar can provide about 1.8 billion kilowatt hours of clean power for Qatar every year, meeting the demand of 10% of the peak power of Qatar. It is the first large-scale ground photovoltaic power station with full capacity connected to the grid in Qatar's history, and is also one of the largest photovoltaic power stations in the Middle East, with an area of more than 1500 mu, 1400 football fields, and more than 2 million solar panels installed. This project is by far the world's third largest single photovoltaic power station and the world's largest photovoltaic project using tracking systems and double-sided modules. As the world's largest photovoltaic project using tracking system and double-sided modules, the photovoltaic tracking system of the power station can follow the sun's position in real time and always maintain the best light angle, while the double-sided modules have the photoelectric conversion capability on both sides. The application of both technologies improves the power generation efficiency of the power station.

In recent years, the export scale of China's photovoltaic products has continued to rise. Qatar's Al Kasa 800MW photovoltaic project is a typical case of China's photovoltaic going to sea. China's photovoltaic is helping Qatar create history for the World Cup, which is the pride of every Chinese photovoltaic person, and also allows fans around the world to appreciate the charm and charm of China's photovoltaic.
